Independence Day Weekend

We had a very busy weekend! On Friday and Saturday we finished up our garage sale that has been piling up for NINE years! So glad we were able to get rid of all the items we never used and make a little money doing so. Now we just have to take the rest to Goodwill. Niko sat outside with us and really enjoyed all the attention from new people, he's a big flirt and has started acting shy (which is cute, but I will not be encouraging by any means). Then Saturday we met the Wardell family (family friends for forever) at Cooney Dam and rode their wave runners. It was also Niko's first experience with a lake...he was okay until his feet touched the water!
On the way home we had to stop and get a milkshake from the Drive In which usually has the best ones ever. Lyndi and I used to drive all the way out there just for their milkshakes. However, they just weren't as yummy this time........Niko sure liked mine though!

Sunday we did our regular brunch with Nathan's family with a few extra people. Nathan's brother and his wife and also his aunt and uncle were in town for the long weekend. It was the first time they had seen Niko and the first time they had seen Nathan since before his deployment. So after church we went back out to their house. Actually we stopped by the pool but they had left. We put Niko in the kiddy pool for his first pool experience anyway and he loved it. We will definitely be doing more swimming this summer.

On the fourth we hung out at home and cooked burgers then Nathan went to talk business with his brother. So Niko and I played a couple games with my family before stopping by over there. I love this picture! Nathan was standing behind the couch and Niko was playing with Joe's hair :)

Then we went to Laurel for the fireworks. I was worried that he would hate the lights and noise and scream the whole time, but he enjoyed it. At least the first half, then he fell asleep.
He loves grandma :)
Here Kaitie!

He's diggin' them :)
And now too tired to care.
